"In every deliberation we must consider the impact on the seventh generation.”
Great Law of the Iroquois
Our future civilization is shaped by what we do today.
Access to safe, healthy food is a basic human right. For the past thirty years, our food supply has transformed into a massive, vertically integrated, global business network. Sanctioned by NAFTA and supported by participating governments in north/south trade corridor, our food supply is now controlled by a handful of enterprises that readily place corporate responsibility ahead of the public’s health and planetary wellbeing.
Today, these corporations continue to augment our food supply with inadequately tested, genetically engineered food. The weight of evidence proves this has changed not only what we eat, but how the food we are eating is effecting our wellbeing. Within the thirty years that agribusiness has stocked our grocery shelves nation-wide obesity and dietary disease has reached epidemic proportions. In addition, doctors are now linking inadequate diets to poor behaviour, low academic achievement and the rise of auto-immune disease.
Humanity's common heritage (cultural and natural) should be held in trust for future generations. Organic Principle is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the emergence of communities where ecology, commerce and social equity prosper.
